Why do I have to pay?

There are no dues or fees for A.A. / Al-Anon membership alone. However, this Symposium, like any conference, is an event, not a regular meeting. It requires months of planning, preparation and money. Since this event is held in a hotel there is a charge for the use of the facilities. The hotel requires that we purchase coffee and food. Other expenses include travel and lodging for our speakers, printing of flyers and programs, postage and badge supplies. Such an event requires a substantial amount of money. The 2019 Symposium is self-supporting. No group monies are used to pay for the event. No baskets are passed. The cost of the event is paid through registration.
